The Cognitive Performance Test (CPT) is a standardized functional assessment used to evaluate a client’s cognition during common ADL and IADL tasks (medication box, telephone use, shopping task, dressing, making toast, way finding, and washing at a sink). Scoring provides insight as to how much support a client needs for more complex tasks such as driving and homemaking. A study examining its correlation with other cognitive assessments may be found here. A study examining its utility in determining fitness to drive may be found here. An 8.5 minute video explaining the CPT may be found here.
